Security Subdivision

Overview

The Security Division aboard the USS Solenne is responsible for the safety and protection of all shipboard personnel, property, and classified information. Security officers enforce Starfleet regulations, maintain order, and respond to threats both internal and external.

Primary Duties

  • Protect crew, civilians, and ship assets from hostile actions and sabotage.
  • Enforce Starfleet regulations and shipboard discipline.
  • Conduct investigations into breaches of security, criminal activity, and violations of protocol.
  • Manage access control to sensitive areas and classified materials.
  • Provide tactical support during away missions and boarding actions.
  • Coordinate with Tactical and Operations for ship defense and emergency response.
  • Oversee detention facilities and prisoner management.
  • Train crew in basic security and emergency procedures.

Chain of Command

  • Chief of Security: Division head, responsible for all security operations and personnel.
  • Assistant Chief of Security: Second-in-command, supervises shifts and special assignments.
  • Security Officers: Commissioned officers assigned to patrol, investigations, and tactical support.
  • Security Crewmen: Enlisted personnel performing routine patrols, monitoring, and support tasks.
  • Brig Officer: Oversees detention area and prisoner welfare.

Training & Qualifications

  • Starfleet Academy Security curriculum: law enforcement, investigation, tactical response, and crisis management.
  • Advanced training in hand-to-hand combat, phaser and non-lethal weaponry, and shipboard tactics.
  • Specialized courses in counterintelligence, threat assessment, and diplomatic security.
  • Regular drills for emergency response, evacuation, and shipboard defense.

Standard Equipment

  • Phaser sidearm (Type II), phaser rifle (Type III) for tactical teams.
  • Personal body armor and tactical gear for hazardous situations.
  • Tricorder with security and forensic modules.
  • Restraints, stun batons, and non-lethal suppression devices.
  • Access to ship's internal sensors and security monitoring systems.
  • Emergency forcefield controls and lockdown protocols.

Brig & Detention

The Security Division maintains the ship's brig, ensuring humane treatment and secure containment of detainees. All detentions are logged and reviewed by command staff.

Security Response Protocols

  • Intruder Alert: Immediate lockdown of critical areas, deployment of security teams, and activation of internal sensors.
  • Red Alert: Full tactical readiness, coordination with Tactical and Operations, and preparation for boarding or repelling actions.
  • Quarantine & Containment: Isolation of affected zones, enforcement of biohazard protocols, and coordination with Medical.
  • VIP Protection: Assignment of security details to visiting dignitaries and high-value personnel.
  • Evidence Handling: Secure collection, cataloging, and storage of forensic evidence for investigations.

Specializations

  • Tactical Response Teams: Trained for high-risk operations, boarding actions, and counter-terrorism.
  • Forensic Investigators: Experts in crime scene analysis, evidence collection, and data recovery.
  • Diplomatic Security: Provide protection and risk assessment for diplomatic missions and negotiations.

Collaboration

  • Works closely with Tactical, Operations, Medical, and Command divisions for ship-wide safety.
  • Coordinates with Federation law enforcement and intelligence agencies as needed.
  • Participates in joint drills and cross-training for emergency preparedness.
