Shipboard Divisions
Command Division
The Command Division comprises the commanding officer and associated staff of a starship or station. These are the officers who serve as leaders for the rest of their crews. Many start within one of the other divisions before working their way up to command, but all undergo intensive training before they don the red collar.

Engineering Division
The Divsions within the Operations Division comprise the largest segment of a crew. These men and women are vital to keeping a starship working and defending her from the dangers encountered on the frontier.

Sciences Division
The Sciences Division is dedicated to the heart of Starfleet's mission: exploration. Officers in this division come from various backgrounds of knowledge, from the natural sciences to anthropological studies, as they venture out on the frontier of discovery. The sciences division also includes medical, nursing, and counseling personnel who not only perform medical research but also provide care for the health and wellness of the crew.

Starfleet Rank Structure (Simplified Guide)
Cadet Ranks (For those currently in Starfleet Academy)
- Cadet 4th Class – First-year student at the Academy.
- Cadet 3rd Class – Second-year student.
- Cadet 2nd Class – Third-year student.
- Cadet 1st Class – Final-year student, preparing for commissioning as an Ensign.
Crewman Ranks (For enlisted personnel who did not attend the Academy)
- Crewman 3rd Class – Basic enlisted recruit.
- Crewman 2nd Class – Intermediate experience.
- Crewman 1st Class – Senior enlisted crewman.
Petty Officer Ranks (Experienced enlisted leaders)
- Petty Officer 2nd Class – Junior NCO rank.
- Petty Officer 1st Class – Experienced specialist.
- Chief Petty Officer – Senior NCO, responsible for leading divisions.
- Senior Chief Petty Officer – Higher leadership role within enlisted ranks.
- Master Chief Petty Officer – Highest enlisted rank, often serving as key advisors to commanding officers.
Junior Officer Ranks (Commissioned officers who graduated from the Academy or earned a field commission)
- Ensign – Entry-level commissioned officer.
- Lieutenant Junior Grade – More experience; beginning leadership roles.
- Lieutenant – Fully qualified officer, often serving as department head.
Senior Officer Ranks (Seasoned commissioned officers in command and high responsibility roles)
- Lieutenant Commander – Mid-level officer, often executive officers or senior department heads.
- Commander – Executive officer of a starship or commanding officer of smaller vessels/units.
- Captain – Commanding officer of a starship or major installation.
Flag Ranks (Admirals, etc.) – High command and strategic leadership positions.
